Adopting a new puppy into your heart, life and home can be a life changing but joyful experience! We take great honor and pride in assisting our clients through this process!
When it comes to deciding on purchasing a puppy there are many questions that could be asked. How? When? Is our Family ready for this? What breed? Once we have decided on a breed, where do we find a reputable and responsible breeder? Will there be support in the few days and weeks after I move the puppy to my home? This is our first puppy ever, will I have the needed support? Should I consider a trained puppy? What can I expect if I get a trained puppy? The list could go on and on and on…..
To answer some of these questions:
The “How and When and Is our family ready for this?” basically only you can decide if you are ready for this. When you adopt a small puppy into your family the first days and weeks will be very busy! Just like when you bring a new born child home from the hospital. The first couple of nights may be tiresome as your puppy will miss its siblings and playmates it will cry and whimper, expressing its sorrow. Our recommendation is to hold your new puppy lots! Be sure you and your family are ready for the initial adoption stage, before you decide to move forward. Once through the initial move home you will begin to see all the love and laughter you imagined a lovely doodle to bring into your home. This is totally normal as the puppy makes its transition into your life, home and routine.
Where do we find a reputable breeder? At Wagging Heart Kennels we are professional breeders of the English Goldendoodle and Olde English Goldendoodle. If you have decided this is the breed of your choice, then we would love to help you. On top of all this we are so confident in our dogs and the genetics behind them that we Guarantee them for 2 years from the date of purchase against any genetic defects!
Will I receive support after I take my puppy home? Yes! We are dedicated to making sure everyone gets off on the right foot! You and your puppy. We strive to make sure your puppy will have a smooth transition into your heart and home. If you are looking to adopt a puppy and you have never had a dog before, we will give you our best support as well. We are as close as an email or phone call. Contact us.
Should I consider a trained puppy and What can I expect if I do get a trained puppy? If you are intimidated by all the work involved in the initial move home at the puppy stage then this may be a good option for you. If you decide to go with a trained puppy, we will place your puppy into one of our qualified trainers homes, where they will live with the trainer 24/7! How to Adopt a puppy from Wagging Heart Kennels
Over 40 years time that we have been working with clients, we have developed a very time tested and proven method, to assist you in adopting the best suited puppy into your heart and life. Once you have decided that Wagging Heart Kennels is the breeder of your choice, and you are now ready to move forward with adopting one of our beautiful Goldendoodles into your life.
These are the steps that you will need to take:
Browse our site:
Read through our site thoroughly and familiarize yourself with us and our dogs. We have lots of great information about our dogs and who we are. Please avail yourself to all of this information to learn as much as you can about us, our dogs and what makes Wagging Heart Kennels different from other breeders! Once you have decided on a current litter or a future litter you are ready for the next step.
Come to an Open House:
Come to one of our scheduled Open Houses to meet Us, the dogs and see our puppies. Please RSVP before you come so we know you are planning to attend. (We have no Open Houses right now, this will be again when Covid is over)
Fill out our online Application:
Next we will require you to fill out our Online Application, once you have decided which current or future litter you would like a puppy from.
Place a deposit
Place a deposit on the current or future litter of your choice. This deposit is non refundable but can be moved to a different litter of your choice. The deposit will be deducted from the total price of your puppy. We allow clients to choose their puppy in the order that we receive deposits so if you want pick of the litter then get your deposit in early on a future litter! *Note: Wagging Heart Kennels reserves the right to hold back any puppy of their choosing in any future litter for breeding purposes.
Once you have placed your deposit and filled out the application:
You will receive the password for our Puppy Preparation Page. This page will help to answer lots more of your questions concerning transition to your home, integration into your home and life, training, feeding, schedule, and many more helpful tips.
On pick up day:
Make your way to Wagging Heart Kennels at your pre-scheduled time that you have made out with Shelley. Please be prompt!
Payment:
We accept Cash, EMT (Email Money Transfer), Certified Cheque or bank draft. We do not accept Credit or Debit!
Your New Puppy:
You will receive your new puppy all clean and fresh! We give all our puppies a bath before they go home! We will go over all the paperwork to transfer the puppy into your name. You will also receive a puppy pack including: lots of information and goodies for your puppy!
Essentials:
At time of pick up we also have Wagging Heart Kennel approved training collars, leashes, training bells, puppy food, shampoo’s, vitamins and other products to keep your puppy in vibrant glowing health for many years to come!
