FAQ's on our Goldendoodles
Please read the following questions and answers to
find out more about our dogs and puppies and how we
raise them.
Q. What is a standard goldendoodle and how much do they
weigh as adults?
A. A standard goldendoodle is a cross between a golden retriever and
a standard poodle. They weigh between 50 and 80 pounds as adults.
Q. What is a miniature goldendoodle and how much will they
weigh as adults?
A. A miniature goldendoodle is a cross between a golden retriever
and a miniature poodle. They will weigh between 20 and 45 pounds
as adults.
Q. What is the difference between an F1 Goldendoodle and an
F1b Goldendoodle?
A.The F1 Goldendoodle results from breeding a Golden Retriever to
a Poodle. The F1b Goldendoodle results from breeding an F1
Goldendoodle back to a Poodle which makes a more allergy friendly
dog because of the Poodle dominance. If a Miniature Poodle stud is
used to breed we then produce Miniature Goldendoodles (F1 or F1b).
Q. Do these dogs shed and if so how much?
A. These dogs are classed as a low to non-shedding dog. If they shed
it will be moderate when comparing it to a golden retriever. They have
hair and not fur. The F1b goldendoodle is definately better for the
non-shedding characteristics.
Q. Are goldendoodles intelligent and what kind of personality
do they have?
A. Goldendoodles are very intelligent dogs that will learn very quickly
and have a wonderful, happy, loving, and gentle temperament. They
are said to get the intelligence from the poodle and the friendliness
from the golden retriever. So in other words you get the best of both
breeds.
Q. Do you allow people to see the puppies before they have
been vaccinated and checked over by the veterinarian?
A. Yes, we do allow potential customers to see the puppies before
they have been vaccinated and checked over by our veterinarian.
We will not allow you to handle them before they have been
vaccinated. The reason for this is for the health of our puppies. We
want to be able to provide our customers with a happy, healthy puppy
that will be free of sickness and infectious diseases when they take
him/her to its new home.
Q. Will we be able to see both parents when we come to see
the puppies?
A. You will see the mom to the puppies and possibly the dad as well,
however our studs are family co-owned and you may not be able to
see him when the puppies are ready to go.
Q. Do you socialize your puppies in the weeks prior to them
going to their new homes and do you recommend training
school for your puppies?
A. We spend an extensive amount of time with our puppies prior to
them going to their new owners. This is a very critical time of their
lives and we want to ensure they have been well socialized for their
new homes. We highly recommend that you have your puppy enrolled
in training school where he or she will learn many valuable lessons
that will make him the well behaved dog you hoped for. The puppy will
also learn how to interact with other dogs.
Q. What do your puppies all come with?
A. When you come to purchase your puppy it will have been
dewormed twice, vet checked, given its first vaccinations, and you will
get a starter pack of puppy food. We also offer a two year written
guarantee against genetic defects. This covers the hips, eyes, heart,
etc.
Q. Do you require any puppy applications or interviews prior to
us buying a puppy from you?
A. No we do not require an application or an interview however we are
very concerned that our puppies go to good homes where they will be
well taken care of and will see the vet when required. So don't be
surprised if we ask a couple of questions about you.
Q. What should we buy for our new puppy?
A. You should buy a nice sized crate, a collar and leash, and a bed
for him to sleep on and claim as his spot in the house. You should
also purchase a quality whole life, all natural pet food. We feed and
highly recommend TLC Dog Food.
Q. Do you have any good websites I could go to for methods of
puppy house training?
A. I have found an excellent website that has all the help you will ever
need in the area of puppy training. Go to www.perfectpaws.com
Q. Can we contact you about situations we encounter with our
puppy after we purchase it?
A. Yes, feel free to contact us in the years ahead with questions you
may have regarding your puppy and we will try our best to fill you in
with answers.
Thanks for taking the time to read this page and hopefully
you are now filled in on most of the questions you may
